Dr. Ariel's connection to Japan began in the 1950s, when her grandparents met, got married, and had their first two children in Japan. Since then, various aspects of Japanese culture and language have been in her family. In 2023, the opportunity came to move to Tokyo. The decision was easy, with a combination of family history, an adventurous spirit, and a deep drive to provide excellent chiropractic care to a country with so few options.

Why Electra?

Electra comes from the ancient Greek Ēlektra, meaning amber, shining, bright, or radiant.

Chiropractic also shares a partially Greek etymology, coming from chiro, meaning hand, and praktikos, meaning practice. Thus, to practice by hand.

Chiropractors are trained to look for spinal subluxations in the body. Subluxation comes from Latin and holds two meanings. One is a slight misalignment of bones. The other comes from sub, meaning lower, and lux, meaning light.

If a person has a subluxation, they are not shining as brightly.
